Dany Silva is one of the legends of Cape Verdean music. Born in Cape Verde, he has lived in Lisbon, Portugal since his late teens. His distinctive baritone/tenor voice has graced several hit songs since the 1980s, including Branco Velho, Tinto e Geropiga, Criola de San Bento, Bernardo, Caminho de San Tome, and Mama Africa.

Dany performs regularly in Lisbon at venues like the Casa de Morna with artists like Tito Paris, Rui Veloso, and Marisa, and on tours throughout the Portuguese–speaking world. Working with American producer Barry Marshall, he will be releasing two albums in the next year: a collection of new original songs called Caminho Longi, and an album of new recordings of his greatest hits.
